Player Diary with Kristina Andersen
Women's basketball standout shares her thoughts throughout the postseason.
Senior Forward Kristina Andersen |
Well, I think that this might be the most exciting journal entry that I have written so far. Last night we defeated Iowa to earn the University of Utah's first ever berth in the Sweet Sixteen. This Saturday we will face Notre Dame, which has been ranked Number #1 in the country for most of the season. But before we even think about our next opponent, last night's victory was a major step for this program, and a great reward for all those who contribute to the success of this year's basketball team. From the coaches, to past and present players, to fans and parents, everyone involved deserves a great deal of credit in helping our team accomplish one of our goals. So now that we have had time to celebrate, tomorrow we will get back to work. Our coaches (Elaine, Joe, Shelley, and Alli) have all been working day in and day out to do what they can to give our team the best possible chance to win every game. This Saturday will be no different. Notre Dame is a great team with skilled players at all positions, but nothing is impossible. And one final thought: thank you to all the fans who supported us this past week. Most of you have been there all season, but you helped to make these past two games really special! See you in Denver!
